“Daybreak Sky Hopper” reflects upon the existence of the Orca and it’s delicate yet intimidating presence. They are curious creatures with grace, elegance, and danger, demanding the respect of the onlooker. We often overlook that they too raise families with intense protection and love for their young and are tightly connected to their pods. I wanted to paint this scenario and bring an audience into their world of beauty and depict a sense of serenity as they wander through the Straits of Georgia and grace us with their importance to our world.
